Three pictures at once, yay

From Project365
10.20.08 Day 16 Norlin Library, I should have taken one step to the right to get the lamp post further out of the way.I like this quote and the one over the door which I'll take a picture of eventually.

From Project365
10.21.08 Day 17. Alas that I didn't realize that the picture was a little blurry. I love the way this tree is changing color with the red radiating out from the veins.

From Project365
10.22.08 Day 18. I liked the red of the leaves set against how blue the sky is. Fortunately I had my camera with me when I made this observation because by the time I was next by the tree it had clouded over

.In class this week, and next, we're reading Murakami Haruki's Kafka on the Shore which I am, like all his works, in love with. One of the nice things about reading Murakami is that you know that it's a good translation. Because Murakami has a dedicated translator in Philip Gabriel and because Murakami is fluent in English (he does translations of Raymond Carver, among others into Japanese) so you know he wouldn't have chosen to work with a translator who he felt altered his work. It's really nice to be able to have that sort of trust in a translated work.
