I got new wrist braces, with gel packs. Yay. I got them because my old ones were, well, old. And I went to the doctor's because I was afraid that the new thing my hands were doing was more carpal tunnel than tendinitis, I was wrong, luckily.

So a couple exciting bits of actual news.

Bit 1: I have a thesis committee. I also have strict orders to set the date for my defense soonish since there are seven or eight of us defending this semester. Bumper crop of Japanese MAs.

Bit 2: Back in November I submitted a paper to a forthcoming book. Today I got a en e-mail saying that they would like to publish it, provided the revisions work out. My free time is officially nill. I'm okay with that at the moment. Check back later and I'll probably be frothing at the mouth.
