And some extras:
06.19.09, Day 258. After the rain.
This next one has a bit of a story. I was sitting at the dining room table last night and reading when I heard the cats start growling. Assuming that they were fighting with each other I turned to scold them and noticed that they were all fluffed up and staring at the cat door. I turned on the back porch light to scare away whatever neighborhood cat was attempting to encroach on their territory and saw . . . a raccoon.
"Huh," I thought, "strange that it's not running away."
Which is when I noticed the four little raccoons bumbling about it's feet. So I did what anyone would do when they have a raccoon less than a foot outside the cat door that they were going to use to come inside. I ran and got my camera. Unfortunately it kept trying to focus on the glass. So as mama Raccoon and her babies took their own sweet time leaving the scene I went outside and got a few photos and the meandered off.
06.21.09, Day 113. Masked invaders.
The whole time I thought about how crazy they would have made the dog. No worries, Max, the cats can protect the house too.
